Workflow: Price Automation Based on Sales Parameters (AI-powered)

Data. Products. Prices. Automated.

1. User Benefits

This workflow automatically adjusts product prices based on real sales performance, margin targets, and stock levels. Instead of manual price changes, the system continuously optimizes prices to maximize revenue and protect profitability.

  • Dynamic pricing based on real sales velocity, stock, and margin
  • Less underpricing (margin loss) and less overpricing (lost sales)
  • Automated reaction to slow movers and bestsellers
  • Fewer manual price updates per marketplace and channel
  • Clear pricing rules instead of “gut feeling” decisions

Result: More profit per SKU, better stock rotation, and a fully controlled price strategy without daily manual work.

2. How the Workflow Works

2.1 Data Collection

The workflow aggregates all relevant input data for each SKU:

  • Sales history (daily/weekly/monthly units sold)
  • Current stock levels and incoming stock (if available)
  • Purchase price, fees, and target margin
  • Minimum and maximum price limits
  • Optionally: marketplace fees and shipping costs

2.2 Sales Parameter Analysis

For each product, the AI evaluates:

  • Sales velocity (fast mover vs. slow mover)
  • Stock risk (overstock vs. risk of stockout)
  • Margin quality (below, at, or above target margin)
  • Seasonality or campaign periods (optional)

Based on this, the product is classified into pricing “states” (e.g., overstock, healthy, limited stock, dead stock).

2.3 Price Strategy Rules

The workflow applies rule-based or AI-optimized price logic, for example:

  • Slow seller: moderate price reduction within defined min/max range to improve rotation.
  • Fast seller, low stock: slight increase to protect margin and avoid stockout.
  • Overstock: more aggressive markdowns to free up storage and cashflow.
  • Margin below target: automatic price correction towards minimum profitability threshold.

All rules are configurable per marketplace, category, or brand.

2.4 Price Calculation & Safeguards

The system calculates a new recommended price for each SKU and validates:

  • Respect of minimum and maximum price limits
  • Compliance with marketplace price rules (e.g., minimum price steps)
  • Margin not below defined threshold (if configured)

Optionally, prices can be sent:

  • Directly "live" to marketplaces via API, or
  • Into a review queue for manual approval (for sensitive categories).

2.5 Export to Feed / API

Final prices are exported via:

  • CSV/XML price feeds, or
  • Direct API updates to marketplaces and shops.

The workflow runs on a schedule (e.g., hourly, daily) or event-based (e.g., stock change, major sales spike).

3. Time Savings for the User

Typical manual effort for price management:

  • Checking sales and stock per SKU: 1–3 minutes
  • Deciding on a new price: 1–2 minutes
  • Updating price in each system/marketplace: 1–2 minutes

Total: 3–7 minutes per SKU per price update

With this workflow:

  • Effort per SKU: 0–1 minute (only optional review or exception handling)

Typical weekly time savings:

  • 100 SKUs with regular updates → approx. 5–10 hours saved
  • 500 SKUs → approx. 25–40 hours saved
  • 1,000+ SKUs → 50+ hours saved

Price management becomes a strategic layer (rule design and review) instead of repetitive manual work in spreadsheets and marketplace backends.
