Workflow: Dynamic Sale Price Workflow (e.g. Clearance / Sell-Off)
AI-driven sale pricing based on stock, age, and sales performance.
Data. Products. Prices. Automated.
1. User Benefits
This workflow automatically creates and manages dynamic sale prices for selected products (e.g. clearance, end-of-line, seasonal overstock). Instead of manual markdown planning, prices are reduced in a controlled, rule-based way until the stock is sold through.
- Faster sell-through of overstock, seasonal items, and dead stock
- Automated price reductions based on time, stock, and performance
- Clear rules instead of ad-hoc discounts
- Protection of minimum margin and brand pricing
- Consistent sale logic across all marketplaces and shops
Result: Less capital tied up in inventory, fewer “dusty” SKUs, and structured sale campaigns without daily manual adjustments.
2. How the Workflow Works
2.1 Selection of Sale Candidates
The workflow identifies or receives the products that should enter a sale/clearance program:
- Overstock (stock above defined threshold)
- Slow movers (low sales velocity over X days/weeks)
- Old stock (on hand for longer than Y days)
- Manual selection (e.g. specific brand, category, campaign)
2.2 Sale Strategy & Discount Rules
You define the sale strategy once; the workflow executes it automatically:
- Initial discount level (e.g. -10%, -20%)
- Stepwise discount schedule (e.g. every 7/14 days)
- Target stock-out window (e.g. sell within 30/60/90 days)
- Minimum price / minimum margin limits (no sale below X € or Y % margin)
Rules can differ by category, brand, or channel (e.g. more aggressive on one marketplace).
2.3 Dynamic Price Adjustment
On each run, the workflow checks for each SKU in the sale:
- Current stock and sales since last price adjustment
- Days in sale / days until target sell-out date
- Current margin at sale price
Based on this, AI or rule-logic adjusts the sale price:
- Increase discount if sell-through is too slow
- Hold price if performance is on track
- Optionally stop discounting when stock is low enough
2.4 Safety Checks (Margin & Brand Limits)
Before any price goes live, the workflow validates:
- Price not below purchase price (no loss sales, if configured)
- Margin above minimum threshold (e.g. 5–10%)
- Compliance with brand or MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) rules
If rules are violated, the price is either:
- Blocked and replaced with a safe minimum price, or
- Flagged for manual review in a report.
2.5 Export to Feed / API
Approved sale prices are pushed to:
- Marketplace and shop feeds (CSV/XML), or
- Direct API integrations (e.g. Amazon, eBay, Shopify, Kaufland).
The workflow typically runs daily or multiple times per week during active campaigns.
3. Time Savings for the User
Typical manual effort for sale pricing and clearance campaigns:
- Identifying overstock & slow movers: 2–5 minutes per SKU group
- Deciding discount levels and timing: 2–4 minutes per SKU/group
- Updating prices in each system/marketplace: 1–3 minutes per SKU
In practice: several hours per sale wave, especially for larger catalogs
With this workflow:
- Effort per SKU: 0–1 minute (mainly setup + occasional review)
Typical time savings:
- 50 sale SKUs per campaign → approx. 4–8 hours saved
- 200 sale SKUs → approx. 15–25 hours saved
- 500+ sale SKUs → 30–40+ hours saved per campaign
Clearance and sale pricing becomes a scalable, rule-based system instead of a one-off manual Excel project every time you need to reduce stock.
